Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Ted Taylor
Left-winger Ted Taylor played parts of six seasons in the NHL. He was a decent checker and playmaker who spent most of his pro time in the WHA.

The native of Oak Lake, Manitoba played junior in the MJHL with the Brandon Wheat Kings. During his first pro season in 1962-63, he notched 22 goals for the EPHL's Sudbury Wolves. Over the next four seasons he toiled in the AHL and CHL while playing a handful of games for the New York Rangers and Detroit Red Wings.

The steady forward played 31 NHL games in 1967-68 after he was claimed by the Minnesota North Stars in the Expansion Draft. The next year, he was back in the minors and scored 36 goals for the WHL's Vancouver Canucks in 1969-70. He joined the NHL's Canucks the next season and was a fine all 'round player for two years. He formed an effective line with Ray Cullen and Mike Corrigan. Beginning in 1972-73, he played six years with the WHA's Houston Aeros before retiring in 1978. Taylor recorded three 20-goal seasons and helped the club win the Avco World Trophy in 1974.
