Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Peter Sturgeon
Left-winger Peter Sturgeon played a handful of games for the Colorado Rockies in the 70s and 80s. He was better known as a fine goal scorer in junior and reliable two-way performer in a lengthy minor pro career.

Born in Whitehorse, Yukon, Sturgeon was taken 36th overall by the Boston Bruins in 1974 after he scored 39 goals for the Kitchener Rangers of the OHA. He then spent several years as a consistent worker in the minors before signing as a free agent with the Rockies in 1979.

Sturgeon played six games over two years with Colorado but the club opted to go with younger players. Prior to the 1981-82 season, he joined the senior Georgetown Terriers where he notched 36 goals before retiring.
