Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Ralph Stewart
After being in the Canadiens organization, with their OHA team from 1965 to 1968, Ralph Stewart played for three different teams in two leagues and was claimed by the Canucks in the 1970 Expansion Draft.

Stewart made his NHL debut in the 1970-71 season playing three games and spending the majority of the year with the Rochester Americans in the AHL. The next season saw Stewart play for three different teams. He was traded to the Red Wings but never played a game for them. Stewart was dealt once again, in 1973, this time to the Islanders.

He spent over three seasons in New York and saw his first Stanley Cup action in the 1974-75 season. This marked the Islanders' first appearance in the post season, as the team made it to the semi-finals. Stewart was dealt back to the Canucks in 1976 and finished his NHL career there with the 1977-78 season. He played one more year in the CHL before hanging them up for good in 1979.
