Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Bob Stephenson
Right-winger Bob Stephenson played a few games with the Hartford Whalers and Toronto Maple Leafs in 1979-80. He was a fine scorer in college who was a useful role player in the minors for several years.

Born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Stephenson spent three years with St. Francis Xavier University and led the AUAA in goals on two occasions. In 1977-78 he began his pro career with the WHA's Birmingham Bulls. In June 1979 he was picked up by the Whalers in the Dispersal Draft and played four games for his new club the following season.

In December 1979 he was traded to the Maple Leafs for Pat Boutette and showed flashes of potential during 14 games with his new club. He was returned to the minors before the end of the season then played briefly with the AHL's Springfield Indians in 1980-81 before retiring.
