Centre Bud Stefanski played one game with the New York Rangers in 1977-78. He was a dangerous goal scorer who enjoyed several productive years in the minors while also trying his hand in Europe.
Born in South Porcupine, Ontario Stefanski was chosen 154th overall by the Rangers in 1975 after two productive years in the OHA with the Oshawa Generals. In 1975-76 he made his pro debut with the IHL's Port Huron Flags and notched 26 goals. The next year the talented pivot scored 49 goals then received a brief look from the Rangers in 1976-77.
Following his NHL cameo he played several years in the minors and a couple of seasons with Austria's Heraklith Villacher. In all he recorded six 20-goal seasons before retiring in 1987 after four years with the AHL's Maine Mariners.
