Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Ray Staszak
Right-winger Ray Staszak played four games for the Detroit Red Wings in 1985-86. He was a talented goal scorer who could play a gritty style in the corners though his pro career was short-lived.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Staszak played junior with the Austin Mavericks of the USHL in 1982-83. He then spent two years with the University of Illinois-Chicago and was selected to the CCHA first all-star team in 1985 after scoring 37 goals in 38 games.

Staszak was signed as a free agent by the Red Wings in July 1985 and registered an assist in four games. He spent most of the year with the AHL's Adirondack Red Wings before he opted to retire.
