Centre Ed Stankiewicz played a few games for the Detroit Red Wings in the mid-50s. He was a fine goal scorer who spent the bulk of his career in the minors.
Born in Kitchener, Ontario, Stankiewicz scored 54 goals in 47 games for the junior Windsor Spitfires in 1949-50. He turned pro with the AHL's St. Louis Flyers and was recalled on occasion by the Red Wings.
Stankiewicz retired in 1965 after scoring 48 goals for the EHL's Long Island Ducks. He also topped the 30-goal mark on three other occasions in the EPHL, WHL and EHL before hid career was completed.
