Centre Al Staley played one game for the New York Rangers in 1948-49. He was a decent goal scorer who could battle effectively in the corners in a career that took place chiefly in the minors and the senior leagues.
Born in Regina, Saskatchewan Staley played junior for the local Commandos and Pats. The Rangers prospect recorded an assist in one NHL game with the parent club in 1948-49 then spent most of his rookie pro season with the EHL's New York Rovers. In 1949-50 he played with Regina and Saskatoon in the WCSHL and recorded three straight 20-goal seasons before retiring in 1953.
