Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Frank Spring
After playing two seasons with the WCJHL's Edmonton Oil Kings, Frank Spring was selected by the Bruins fourth overall in the 1969 Amateur Draft. He played only one game for Boston and spent the majority of his playing time in the CHL and AHL before being claimed in the 1971 Intra-League Draft by the Flyers. He was dealt to the Blues two years later after playing only in Philadelphia's minor league affiliate team.

Spring played two games for the Blues in the 1973-74 season and moved down to the AHL and WHL. After playing three more games with the Blues the year after, Spring was traded to the California Golden Seals where he finally got to play regularly in the NHL. The 1975-76 season saw Spring back in the CHL and he led the league in goals and was named to the league's second all-star team.

When the Seals franchise moved to Cleveland and became the Barons in 1976, Spring had played his last season in the NHL. He played one more season in the AHL and WHA before retiring from the game in 1978.
