Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Ron Snell
Right-winger Ron Snell played seven games for the Pittsburgh Penguins in the late 60s. Despite the brevity of his NHL career he was a productive scorer in the WHA, minor leagues and junior.

Born in Regina, Saskatchewan Snell was chosen 14th overall by the Pens after he scored 56 goals for the hometown Pats of the WHL. Apart from a couple of recalls to the NHL, he was used chiefly in the minors where he registered five straight 20-goal seasons. In 1973-74 he scored 24 goals for the Winnipeg Jets of the WHA. He played the first half of the next season in the WHA before joining the Cape Cod Codders of the NAHL. Snell retired in 1976 after splitting the season between the NAHL and AHL.
