Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Rod Smylie
Winger Rod Smylie spent parts of six seasons in the NHL, mostly as a member of the Toronto St. Pats. He was a decent playmaker and checker who also excelled in senior hockey circles.

The Toronto native was an offensive star with the senior Toronto Dental squad for four years. In 1920-21 he joined the St. Pats as a free agent and spent five of his six pro seasons there. During the 1922 playoffs he led all scorers with three assists as the club won the Stanley Cup.

Apart from his tenure in Toronto, Smylie spent the 1923-24 season with the Ottawa Senators. He retired five games into the 1925-26 schedule.
