Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Dan Seguin
Left-winger Dan Seguin played briefly with the Minnesota North Stars and Vancouver Canucks in the 70s. He was a talented goal scorer who excelled in junior and the minors but never put it all together in the NHL.

The native of Sudbury, Ontario came up through the New York Rangers' system. After a 20-goal season for the Kitchener Rangers in 1967-68, he was traded to the North Stars in a deal that was built around veteran Dave Balon. The young forward reached the 20-goal mark in each of his first two pro seasons in the CHL, was a second team all-star in 1970 then made the North Stars out of training camp a few weeks later.

Early in the 1970-71 season, Seguin was claimed on waivers by Vancouver and made into 25 games for his new team. He continued to bounce around the minors and was named to the WHL first all-star team in 1973 after scoring 32 goals for the Seattle Totems.

Seguin was recalled for one game in Vancouver during the 1973-74 season and continued to score with regularity in the minors. In 1974-75 he led the CHL with 37 goals and was a second team all-star. He retired in 1977 after scoring 27 goals for the AHL's Rhode Island Reds.
