Centre Glen Seabrooke played parts of three seasons with the Philadelphia Flyers in the late 80s. He was a fine checker and goal scorer whose career was curtailed by a serious illness.
The native of Peterborough, Ontario spent three years excelling with the local Petes and was selected 21st overall by Philly in 1985. He played sporadically for the Flyers and notched 32- and 23-goal seasons for the AHL's Hershey Bears before retiring. The disappointment over his short career paled in comparison to the concern over a malignant tumor discovered during a routine physical. Seabrooke left the game after moderate success and pursued other goals with his health intact.
