Dave Rochefort was born July 22, 1946 in Red Deer, Alberta. A graduate of the Central Alberta Hockey League's (1962- 1965) and Alberta Senior Hockey League's (1965-66) Edmonton Oil Kings, Rochefort is a two-time winner of the Memorial Cup, winning it in 1963 and again in 1966.
The 1966-67 season saw Rochefort play in his first and only NHL game with the Detroit Red Wings, spending the majority of his season with the Memphis Wings of the Central Professional Hockey League, while also playing in one game with American Hockey League's Pittsburgh Hornets.
Rochefort joined the CPHL's Fort Worth Wings for the 1967-68 season, establishing a career high in goals (15), in assists (18) and in points (33) before returning to the AHL the following year with the Baltimore Clippers.
On the move again in 1968-69, Rochefort played in only three games with the Central Hockey League's Oklahoma City Blazers before joining the Western Hockey League's Salt Lake Golden Eagles.
In his last two seasons of professional hockey, Dave Rochefort returned to Edmonton and was a member of the Alberta Senior Hockey League's (1970-71) and Prairie Senior Hockey League's (1971-72) Edmonton Monarchs.
When Dave Rochefort ended his career, he had played in only one NHL game and was held pointless.
