Brad Palmer was born September 14, 1961 in Duncan, B.C. The 1st choice, 16th overall selection of the Minnesota North Stars in the 1980 NHL Entry Draft, Palmer is a graduate of the British Columbia Hockey League's Kelowna Packers and of the Western Hockey League's Victoria Cougars.

The Duncan, B.C. native spent three seasons in Victoria before making his NHL debut with Minnesota during the 1980-81 season. Palmer and the North Stars competed in the NHL-Sweden Dagens Nyheter Cup prior to the regular season and then joined the team for the latter part of the season and the team's march to the Stanley Cup finals.

The 1981-82 season marked Palmer's first full season with the North Stars. In 72 games with Minnesota, Palmer scored (22) goals while adding (23) assists for (45) points before he was dealt to the Boston Bruins during the off-season.

After only one season in Boston with the Bruins, Palmer found himself in the American Hockey League with the Hershey Bears in 1983-84 before heading overseas the following year.

Over the next eight seasons, Palmer had stops in Switzerland, Finland, Austria and Germany before calling it a career following the 1991-92 season.
