Aldo Palazzari was born July 25, 1918 in Eveleth, Minnesota. The father of Doug Palazzari, Aldo was a graduate of the United States Hockey League's Eveleth Rangers, before joining the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Union's University of Illinois in 1939-40.

Following his three seasons at the University of Illinois, the Eveleth, Minnesota native joined the USHL's Akron Clippers in 1942-43 after suiting up for 12 games with the Clippers the previous year.

In 1943-44 Palazzari made his made his NHL debut with the Boston Bruins, playing in 24 games while spending the other half of the season with the Eastern Amateur Hockey League's Boston Olympics before being traded to the New York Rangers midway through the season.

Palazzari returned to the Rangers in 1944-45 before having to end his career after suffering an eventual career-ending eye injury in training camp.
