Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Kraig Nienhuis
Left-winger Kraig Nienhuis played parts of three seasons with the Boston Bruins in the 80s. He was a rugged grinder with a decent scoring touch who enjoyed most of his success in Europe.

The native of Sarnia, Ontario spent three years at RPI and was signed as a free agent by the Bruins in 1985. He scored 16 goals as a rookie but his NHL time decreased over the next two seasons. Nienhuis moved on to Germany, Austria, Slovenia and Britain. He scored 93 goals in two seasons for Slovenia's Olimpjia Llubljana and played for Austria at the 1996 World Championships.

Ivan Novolseltsev

Left-winger Ivan Novolseltsev entered the 2001-02 season as an intriguing figure on the rebuilt Florida Panthers. A top scorer in junior, he showed glimpses of potential in the NHL but had yet to make a long term impact.

Born in Golitsino, USSR, Novolseltsev starred with Krylia Sovetov and was taken 95th overall by Florida in 1997. He came to North America and adjusted to the different style of play with the OHL's Sarnia Sting. After breakout 57-goal season in 1998-99, he played a few games for Florida the next year and apprenticed with the AHL's Louisville Panthers. He split the next year between the NHL and the minors and hoped to gain a full time place in the NHL in 2001-02.
