Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Rich Nantais
Left-winger Richard Nantais played 63 games for the Minnesota North Stars in the 1970s. An explosive scorer in junior who could also play rough, he was more of a journeyman in the NHL and the minor leagues during his four years as a pro.

Born in Repentigny, Quebec, Nantais scored 194 points for the Quebec Remparts in 1973-74. After the season he was selected 24th overall by the Minnesota North Stars in the NHL Amateur Draft. The robust winger scored four goals in 18 games for Minnesota in 1974-75 but spent most of his first two pro seasons in the minors.

Nantais played 40 games in 1976-77 but was unable to get sufficient playing time since the North Stars had Steve Jensen, Ernie Hicke, Tom Younghans, Pierre Jarry and veteran Jim Roberts at left-wing. He scored 29 points in 60 games for the CHL's Fort Worth Texans in 1977-78 before retiring.
