Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Cliff McBride
In the early days of his career, Cliff McBride played in northern Ontario with the Iroquois Falls Eskimos of the NOJHA in 1926-27 and the Fort William Forts of the TBSHL in 1927-28.

It was evident McBride had a tremendous amount of hockey talent and it earned him a call from the Montreal Maroons who used him for one game in 1928-29. However, they could not find a spot for him on the team so they traded him to Toronto in October, 1929 for cash. He appeared in one game for the Maple Leafs and that was the extent of his time in the NHL. He considered that game with Toronto to have been the most memorable event of his career, having the opportunity to play with the likes of Ace Bailey, Charlie Conacher, Joe Primeau, Hap Day and Busher Jackson.

McBride played pro hockey for another nine years in the IHL, Can-Pro, Can-Am and IAHL where he retired as a member of the Springfield Indians at the conclusion of the 1937-38 season.
