Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Sam McAdam
Sam McAdam was a center/left-winger who played five games for the New York Rangers in 1930-31. He was a decent goal scorer who enjoyed a lengthy career in the minors, especially the Pacific Coast League.

Born in Sterling. Scotland, McAdam moved to Winnipeg in his youth. He played junior with the Winnipeg Tammany Tigers in 1925-26 then joined the city's CPR senior club. In 1928-29 he scored ten goals as a rookie pro with the Vancouver Lions of the PCHL. He was a regular with the club until he was sent to the Rangers for cash in January, 1931. McAdam was solid if unspectacular during his five game trial in the NHL.

After spending a bit of time in the IAHL, WCHL and the North West League, the hard working forward spent several years in the PCHL before retiring in 1944. Along the way he reached double figures in goals scored eight consecutive years including a personal best 23 with the Seattle Seahawks in 1935-36.
