Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Dave Lucas
Defenceman Dave Lucas played one game for the Detroit Red Wings in 1962-63. He was a fine passer who could also play aggressively in his own zone. Most of his career was spent in the minors where he was one of the longest serving members in the history of the Eastern League.

Born in Downeyville, Ontario, Lucas played junior B with the Lindsay Braves before joining the EHL's Washington Lions in 1952-53. Apart from his one game cameo in the NHL, he spent most of his career in the EHL before retiring in 1969. Along the way he reached double figures in goals scored 11 times, was placed the league first all-star team twice and named to the second unit seven times. Lucas also was an integral part of EHL championships with the Johnstown Jets in 1960, 1961 and 1962 and took a turn behind the Salem Rebels' bench in 1967-68.
