Defenceman Dwayne Lowdermilk played a pair of games for the Washington Capitals in 1980-81. He was an offensive minded blueliner who put up big numbers in junior and enjoyed a solid minor pro career.
Born in Burnaby, BC, Lowdermilk played in the BCJHL with the Langley Lords before spending 2 1/2 years in the WCJHL with the Kamloops Chiefs and the Seattle Breakers. After scoring 28 goals for Seattle in 1977-78, the young blueliner was chosen 51st overall by the New York Islanders at the Entry Draft.
Lowdermilk played two years with the Fort Worth Texans and Indianapolis Checkers of the CHL before he was sent to the Caps for future considerations early in the 1980-81 season. He recorded an assist in two games for the club then spent most of the next two years in the minors before retiring in 1982.
