Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Mike Lauen
Right-winger Mike Lauen played four games with the Winnipeg Jets in 1983-84. Although his NHL tenure was short-lived, he was a fine goal scorer in college and the minors.

Born in Edina, Minnesota, Lauen was chosen 135th by the Winnipeg Jets in 1980 after scoring 24 goals as a freshman with the Michigan Tech Huskies. That year he also scored three goals in five games when the US finished seventh at the World Junior Championships. He returned for three more years of college before joining the AHL's Sherbrooke Jets late in the 1982-83 season.

In addition to his brief spell in the NHL, Lauen scored 23 goals for Sherbrooke in 1983-84 before injuries hindered his career. He retired in 1986 after spending a year each in the AHL and IHL.
