Left-winger Robbie Laird played one game for the Minnesota North Stars in 1979-80. He was a proficient goal scorer who could also provide a physical dimension to his team.
The native of Regina, Saskatchewan was taken 116th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1974 after he scored 39 goals and helped the hometown Pats win the Memorial Cup. In 1974-75 he began a long association with the IHL's Fort Wyane Komets. Before retiring in 1986 Laird reached the 30-goal mark five times and was named to the IHL first all-star team in 1979.
