Labovitch played in the MAHA for the Winnipeg JV Rangers in 1940-41 and then went on to the Winnipeg Rangers of the MJHL the following season.
In 1942-43 and in 1944-45 he missed both of the entire season due to military service. The season in between this (1943-44) Labovitch played five games with the New York Rangers, recording no points but four penalty minutes. He played the remainder of the season with the New York Rovers of the EAHL.
After returning from military duties, Labovitch played with the Winnipeg Orioles in 1945-46. Then in 1946-47 he moved into the WIHL and played for the Los Angeles Ramblers. Labovitch played his last three years in the IHL but played with four different teams, the Toledo Mercurys (1947-48), The Toledo North Mercurys (1948-49), The Toledo South Mercurys (1948-49) and the Toledo Buckeyes (1949-50).
