Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Max Kaminsky
Centre Max Kaminski was a clever playmaker who could also check fairly well. He played 130 games in the 1930s with three different franchises, two of which came during the first 12 games of the season. He was rejuvenated by a trade to the Boston Bruins and scored 27 points in the last 38 games of the year playing with Marty Barry and Charlie Sands. In 1935-36 he was almost exclusively a checker and had difficulty burying what few scoring chances came his way. Prior to the next season he was sold to the Montreal Maroons where he played his last six NHL games.

After leaving the NHL, Kaminski became a star in the AHL for a decade. He spent five years with the Springfield Indians where he was voted on to the league's second all-star team in 1940. In 1942-43 he scored a career high 46 points then retired two years later after playing with the Pittsburgh Hornets. In 1945-46 he spent one last year with the Hornets as head coach. He later managed the AHL's Philadelphia Rockets, coached the St.Catharines Tee Pees to the Memorial Cup in 1960.
