Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Greg Hickey
Left-winger Greg Hicley played one game for the New York Rangers in 1977-78. He was a decent goal scorer who could play with grit during a pro career that took place mostly i the minors.

The Toronto native was chosen 48th overall by New York in 1975 after accumulating 70 goals in three seasons with the OHA's Hamilton Red Wings/Fincups. He made his pro debut in 1975-76 with the AHL's Providence Reds and the Port Huron Flags of the IHL. He continued to work hard on several clubs and saw action in one NHL game for the Blueshirts in 1977-78.

Following his NHL cameo, Hickey was a 20-goal scorer on the New Haven Nighthawks of the AHL and the Fort Wayne Komets of the "I". After sitting out the 1981-82 season he returned to the Atlantic Coast league for one year before retiring for good in 1983.
