Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Ed Harrison
Forward Ed Harrison played parts of four seasons in the NHL during the late 40s and early 50s. A big league role player, he was a fine scorer in junior, the minors and senior hockey circles.

The native of Mimico, Ontario, Harrison was a junior standout with the St. Michael's Majors for three years before debuting with the Boston Bruins in 1947-48. Able to function at centre and left-wing, he played over three years in Beantown. Harrison's best season was 1949-50 when he scored 14 goals and was an effective checker playing on a line with Phil Maloney and Dave Creighton.

In November, 1950, Harris and Zelio Toppazzini were traded to the New York Rangers for Dunc Fisher. He only played four games for the Blueshirts and spent the bulk of his time with the AHL's Hershey Bears. After scoring 20-goals for the AHL's Cincinnati Mohawks in 1951-52, Harrison took a grand tour of the minors with stops in the WHL, AHL and EHL before joining the Quebec Aces of the Quebec senior league. He also toiled for the NOHA's Sudbury Wolves the spent two years with the senior Woodstock Athletics before retiring in 1962.
