Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Tim Harrer
Right-winger Tim Harrer played three games for the Calgary Flames in 1982-83. Although his NHL aspirations fell short, he put up impressive offensive numbers in college and the minors.

Born in Bloomington, Minnesota, Harrer played with the local junior Stars before accepting a scholarship with the University of Minnesota. Following a solid freshman year in 1976-77, the young forward was claimed 148th overall by the Atlanta Flames at the NHL Entry Draft. Three years later he notched 53 goals and was placed on the WCHA west first all-star team and the NCAA west first all-American squad.

Harrer spent the majority of his first four pro seasons in the minors. In addition to his three game recall to the Flames, his pinnacle was a 42-goal performance for the Salt Lake Golden Eagles in 1983-84. Harrer retired in 1985 after splitting the year between the IHL, AHL and the EC Graz club of Austria.
