Defenceman Jim Hargreaves played briefly with the Vancouver Canucks in the early 70s. He spent most of his pro career in the WHA as a reliable two-way player.
The Winnipeg native played junior with the local Jets of the WCJHL. He was an offensive force with 73 points in two seasons and was named a league all-star in 1970. The talented rearguard was taken 16th overall by the Vancouver Canucks then spent most of his first two pro seasons developing with the Rochester Americans of the AHL.
Hargreaves played 59 games for the Canucks in 1972-73 then returned to Winnipeg to play for the WHA's Jets in 1973-74. He also toiled for the Indianapolis Racers and San Diego Mariners before retiring in 1976.
