Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Mark Hamway
The New York Islanders drafted Mark Hamway in 1980 after his freshman year at Michigan State. He played college hockey until 1983, and was named to the CCHA All Star team in 1982. He played the 1983-84 season for the Indianapolis Checkers of the CHL. Hamway played two games for the Islanders in 1984-85, and spent the rest of that season in the AHL with the Springfield Indians. The following season he spent 49 games in an Isles jersey, and even made a playoff appearance. 1986-87 saw him back in Springfield for all but two games, and was the last season he played professionally.
