Right-winger Gus Forslund spent the 1932-33 season with the Ottawa Senators. He was a solid performer in the minors but was particularly successful as a senior player. The native of Umea, Sweden, Forslund came to Canada in his youth and played for the senior Port Arthur Ports and Fort William Forts. He was forced to sit out the 1928-29 season because of injuries the played three years with the Duluth Hornets of the AHA. He signed with Ottawa and scored 13 points in 48 games in 1932-33.

Following his brief NHL tenure, Forslund played three years of minor pro with the IAHL and Can-Am League. In 1936-37, he stopped playing for a year to coach the senior Fort William Wanderers. He then moved on to the Duluth Zephyrs and Geraldton Gold Miners before retiring in 1941. In 1939-40, Forslund led the Thunder Bay Senior League with 39 points in 24 games.
