Right-winger Tommy Filmore was a useful checker on three different NHL clubs in the 1930s. He also enjoyed an exemplary minor pro tenure in a career that lasted 16 seasons.

Born in Thamesford, Ontario Filmore played four years in the OHA, CanPro and IAHL before joining the Detroit Falcons in 1930-31. He scored six goals and formed a solid defensive trio with...Early in 1931-32 he was part of a multi-player transaction with the New York Americans.Although he played solidly for the Amerks, the club was unable to qualify for the post-season.

Filmore played 34 games for New York in 1932-33 working on a line with..In February he was traded to the Boston Bruins but only played four games for them over the next two years. The bulk of Filmore's work was in the Can-Am League with the Boston Cubs, Quebec Beavers and Providence Reds. In 1936-37 he began a succesful four year run with the Springfield Indians of the newly reorganized American Hockey League. Filmore sat out the 1940-41 season then played one game with the Fort Worth Rangers of the AHA before retiring in 1942.
