Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Chuck Dinsmore
Centre Chuck Dinsmore spent parts of four seasons with the Montreal Maroons in the 20s and 30s. He was a tenacious checker who didn't back down in the heat of competition despite his 5'6", 155lb. frame.

Born in Toronto, Dinsmore played several years with the junior and senior Aura Lee clubs in his home town. Early in the 1924-25 season he was signed as a free agent by the Maroons and looked solid in 30 games as a rookie. He played two more years as a regular on the club and formed a solid trio with Batt Phillips and Sam Rothschild when the team won its first Stanley Cup in 1926.

Dinsmore retired following the 1926-27 season and began coaching the senior Montreal CNR squad. He held that position for two years then returned to play nine games for the Maroons in late in the 1929-30 schedule. The veteran pivot retired after Montreal lost 3 games to 1 in the semifinals to the Boston Bruins.
