Centre Gary Dillon played 13 games for the Colorado Rockies in 1980-81. After a stellar amateur career, his pro tenure lasted only three years.
The Toronto native was claimed 85th overall by the Rockies in 1979 after he registered 120 points for the Toronto Marlboros of the OHA. He was named to the league's first all-star team in 1979 and finished with 375 career points in four junior seasons.
After scoring 30 goals as a rookie pro with the CHL's Fort Worth Texans in 1979-80, the young pivot started the next year with Colorado. He was eventually relegated to Fort Worth for the remainder of the schedule. Dillon signed as a free agent with the Quebec Nordiques in October, 1981 and scored 18 goals for the AHL's Fredericton express before retiring at the end of the season.
