Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Vic Desjardins
Centre Vic Desjardins played briefly with the Chicago Black Hawks and New York Rangers in the early 30s. He was a fine goal scorer and tireless worker who spent most of his playing days in the AHA.

Born in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, Desjardins began his career with the home town entry in the USAHA. he later moved on to the Evelenth Rangers before joining the AHA's St.Paul Saints in 1926-27. Desjardins scored 74 goals in four years with the club before he played 39 games as an NHL rookie on Chicago in 1930-31. He notched 15 points and played solid defence while playing on a line with Frank Ingram and Stew Adams. The trio helped the Hawks reach the Stanley Cup final where they lost to the Montreal Canadiens.

Prior to the 1931-32 season, Desjardins was traded to the Rangers with Art Somers for Paul Thompson. He scored three goals for the club then aided their drive to the finals where they were swept by the Toronto Maple Leafs. The next year Desjardins returned to the minors where he excelled until retiring in 1938. Along the way he was placed on the AHA first and second all-star teams once each.
