Right-winger Lulu Denis played a handful of games for the Montreal Canadiens in the early 50s. Most of his career was spent as a reliable scorer in the minors, especially the Quebec League.
Born in Vonda, Saskatchewan, Denis excelled as a junior with the Montreal Royals. He played several years with the senior Royals of the QHL in the 50s and dressed for three games with the Habs. In 1954-55 Denis led the Quebec League with 47 assists and was the top scorer in the post-season when he led the Royals to the championship in 1956. Three years later he helped Montreal to another QHL crown and remained with the franchise when it joined the Eastern Pro loop the next season. After playing an integral role on the Royals EPHL championship in 1960, Denis played one more season before retiring.
