Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Bruce Cline
Right winger Bruce Cline was born in the town of Massawippi, Quebec on November 14th, 1931 and went on to capture the top rookie award in the American Hockey League in 1956. His AHL success caught the eye of the New York Rangers and he spent half of the next season on Broadway.

With the Rangers in 1956-57 he played 30 games scoring 2 goals and five points. The other half of the season Cline spent in the AHL with the Providence Reds.

Though he didn't return to the NHL following his time with the Rangers, Cline went on to play eleven more seasons in the AHL. Cline suited up for the Reds and Buffalo Bisons before beginning a four year run with the Springfield Indians, that included a First All-Star Team selection in 1961 and a Second Team selection in 1963. When Cline finished his run in Springfield he joined the Hershey Bears for his final five seasons.
