Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Frank Carson
One of three Carson brothers to skate in the NHL, Frank was the middle between older Bill and younger Gerry. He established himself by playing senior hockey in Startford for a number of years before the Montreal Maroons signed him in 1925-26, and just a few weeks later the team won its first Stanley Cup.

Carson stayed with the English Montreal team for two more full seasons before winding back in minor pro, the Maroons no longer feeling he could make a contribution. But his career was by no means done.

He made it back to the NHL in 1930-31 with another defunct team, the New York Americans, but then was traded with Hap Emms to Detroit for Tom Filmore and Bert McInenly. His three years with Detroit were his best statistically, and he retired in 1934 to pursue a coaching career.
