Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Bill Carse
Carse was a Westerner through and through. He began his career playing exclusively in Edmonton in the 1930s, going to two Memorial Cups but coming away empty-handed. He then moved out to the Pacific Coast league with Vancouver where he led the league in goals (29) and points (38) in 1937-38.

After a year with the Philadelphia Ramblers, Carse was called up to the Rangers for his first NHL game. Although he had an assist in that game, he was sent back to the Ramblers for the rest of the season. Carse was sold to the Black Hawks prior to 1939-40 and played three full seasons in the NHL, all with the Hawks.

But the onset of war put his hockey career on hold. He enlisted, and for three years was unavailable to Chicago. Upon being discharged, he returned to Vancouver and played four more years with the PCHL Canucks, retiring in 1951 to begin a coaching career with the team.
