Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Gerry Brisson
Gerry Brisson came up through the Winnipeg minor hockey system, playing for the Excelsiors for two years, beginning at the age of 14 in 1951. From there he moved on to join the Winnipeg Canadiens of the MJHL for two years before moving back to his hometown, where he starred for the St. Boniface Canadiens, averaging better than a goal and two points per game. Brisson played 52 games of major junior hockey in the OHA with the Peterborough Petes in 1957-58, scoring 28 goals and 51 points in 52 games.

Beginning in the fall of 1958, Brisson began a three-year run with the Winnipeg Warriors of the WHL before playing a year in Spokane in the same league. While playing for the Comets, he was spotted by the Montreal Canadiens, who used him for the only four games of his NHL career, where he responded with two assists.

Brisson was claimed by Cleveland of the AHL from Montreal in the Reverse Draft on June 9, 1965, but never played with the club. He was also traded to the New York Rangers by the California Seals of the WHL in 1966, but again the move did not materialize into any further NHL playing time for Brisson.

After playing 13 games with the St. Boniface Mohawks in 1969-70, Brisson retired from professional hockey.
