Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Cliff Barton
Cliff Barton was given a chance with the Pittsburgh Pirates of the NHL straight out of his days in senior hockey in Port Arthur, Ontario, playing for a team called the Ports. Barton spent the better portion of two seasons in the NHL, with the Pirates and then their Pennsylvania cousins in Philadelphia, the Quakers.

He went on to log eight years battling for respect in the AHL, primarily in Buffalo and with the Philly Ramblers, before landing in the NHL again during the Second World War with the New York Rangers almots a decade later. His name was hardly dry in the hotel registers before he was back in the A, where he ended his 15 years of major hockey with the Pittsburgh Hornets before retiring in 1944.
