Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Kent-Erik Andersson
One of a growing number of Europeans playing in American universities, Anderson starred in Sweden and was drafted by Los Angeles in 1990. But over the next two years, he and the Kings could no come to terms and he became draft eligible again two years later. Problem was, no one wanted him.

Andersson moved to Colorado and enrolled at the University of Denver where he had four successful years. It wasn't until after he graduated, in 1997 at age 26, that Calgary re-drafted him, 70th overall.

Andersson played a dozen games with the Flames, scoring twice, but spent most of the next three years in the minors. He was traded to Chicago during this time, but the Hawks never gave him and NHL start. Clearly not a star in the making in North America, he returned to Sweden to resume his career in his home country's leagues.
