Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Ron Anderson
For some players, their greatest accomplishments come in junior hockey, and Ron Anderson is one case in point. During his four years with the Edmonton Oil Kings in the early 1960s, he went to the Memorial Cup each year, winning his rookie season in 1963 and his graduating year in 1966.

After a year of minor pro, though, he still couldn't crack the Detroit lineup and the Wings traded him to Los Angeles after just 25 games over two years. He played much of 1968-69 with the Kings but they left him exposed in the Inter-League Draft over the summer and he was claimed by St. Louis. Same story with the Blues: one season later, he was traded to Buffalo, and it was with the Sabres, in 1970-71, that he had his best NHL year, scoring 14 goals.

Anderson jumped to the WHA for two years, signing with the Alberta Oilers during the league's inaugural season, but he spent the last part of his career in the Southern League before retiring in 1977.
