Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Doug Acomb
A promising junior who rose through the sponsorship ranks of the Toronto Marlboros, Acomb played just two NHL games, both with the parent Maple Leafs, on March 7 and 11, 1970. He registered one assist.

Acomb played four years with the Marlies, leading the OHA with 55 goals in 1968-69 in his last year after going to the Memorial Cup two years previous. He was even called up to play for the Marlies Senior team for a game, scoring two goals and an assist and looking like one of the best prospects not in the NHL.

The next two years were somewhat disappointing, as he failed to impress in either the CHL or WHL and ended up spending the next and final five years of his hockey career in the minors, mostly with the Barrie Flyers of OHA Sr, leading the league in gals and points in '71-'72 and retiring in 1976.
