Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Ivan Novoseltsev
Born in Golitsino, USSR, Ivan Novoseltsev starred with Krylia Sovetov and was taken 95th overall by Florida in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft. He came to North America and adjusted to the different style of play with the OHL's Sarnia Sting. After breakout 57-goal season in 1998-99, he played a few games for Florida the next year and apprenticed with the AHL's Louisville Panthers. He split the next year between the NHL and the minors and hoped to gain a full time place in the NHL in 2001-02.

After two full seasons with the Panthers, the former Sarnia Sting star was dealt to the Phoenix Coyotes in the early stages of the 2003-04 season. Upon being acquired by the Coyotes, Novoseltsev would miss the majority of the season recovering from a head injury.

On the international stage, Novoseltsev represented his homeland at the 2003 World Championships.
