Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Kevin Todd
Kevin Todd was a slick offensive centre who played nearly 400 games in the 1990s. He was a fine playmaker and power-play specialist whose grit was questioned at times during his career.

The Winnipeg native was a top junior in the WHL with the Prince Albert Raiders. He was taken 129th overall by the New Jersey Devils in 1986 and scored 121 points two years later during his last amateur season. Todd showed plenty of offense in his first three pro seasons with the AHL's Utica Devils. In 1990-91, he led the AHL with 81 assists and 118 points and was named to the league's first all-star team.

The skilled youngster impressed with 63 points as a rookie in 1991-92. That spring he chipped in with three playoff goals when New Jersey lost a tough seven game Patrick Division semi-final to the New York Rangers. Todd's play tailed off the next year and he was sent to the Edmonton Oilers as part of the package used to obtain Bernie Nicholls.

Prior to the 1993-94 season, the young forward was traded to the Chicago Black Hawks for defence prospect Adam Bennett. By the latter stages of that season he was on the move again when he joined the L.A. Kings. Todd continued in his attempt to rekindle his offensive touch and potted 16 goals in 1995-96. He was sent to the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim prior to the 1996-97 season where he was a role player for two years. Todd retired in 1999 after playing a season with EV Zug of Switzerland.
