Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Rich Sutter
The Sutter twins, Rich and Ron, were the last ones to be born and play in the NHL. By the time they were ready to make the jump into the pro ranks, they had some mighty big shoes to fill. Four brothers ahead of them had played in the NHL as they were left in Lethbridge to play junior hockey. They were both drafted in 1982, Rich by the Penguins and Ron by the Flyers, but it was Rich who made it to the NHL first, in 1982-83, playing four games as a Penguin.

After only nine games with Pittsburgh, Rich was traded to Philadelphia where he joined his brother Ron in 1983. Rich was on the move once again in 1986 when he was dealt to the Canucks. He played for four seasons before being traded to the Blues in 1990 to play for his brother, Brian. After three years in St. Louis, the Blackhawks claimed Rich, where his other brother Darryl was the head coach.

Rich's last season in the NHL saw him play on three teams--Chicago, Tampa Bay, and Toronto?before retiring in 1995.
