Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Allan Stewart
Allan Stewart was selected from the Prince Albert Raiders by the Devils in the 1983 Entry Draft and played for the team's AHL affiliate in Maine. Over six seasons, Stewart saw limited time in the NHL, playing the most games in a season, 41 games during the 1990-91 season.

After struggling with alcohol since he was a junior player, the Devils dealt Stewart to the Bruins where he lasted for only one game before leaving the game he loved. He spent the summer of 1992 working at a gas station trying to get a grip on his problems and waiting to hear from any NHL offers. The Jets took a chance on Stewart from the team's assistant coach Terry Simpson, who had coached Stewart in Prince Albert.

Stewart played for the team's AHL affiliate, Moncton Hawks, but suffered a setback when he hurt his knee. He finished the 1992-93 season without being called up to the big club and called it quits for good.
