Left-winger Steve Seftel played four games for the Washington Capitals in 1990-91. He was a fine goal scorer who could stand his ground in the slot but he never made a long term impact in the NHL.
Born in Kitchener, Ontario Seftel starred as a Midget with the hometown Greenshirts and with the OHL's Kingston Canadians. He was taken 40th overall by the Caps in 1986 and scored a personal high 32 goals during his last junior season in 1987-88.
During his first two pro seasons Seftel was a decent two-way worker with the Baltimore Skipjacks of the AHL. In 1990-91 he was recalled for four NHL Games and notched 22 goals in the minors. Injuries limited him to 18 games the next season and forced him to retire.
